Poetic notebook Paul Éluard
Poetic notebook Paul Éluard
“Poetry above all else”, the anthology notebooks of La Chandelle Verte: 60 lined pages, an author, a theme, seven poems or texts.
Three women mark the life of Paul Éluard and leave a deep mark on his work. Elena Ivanovna Diakonova, his first wife of Russian origin, whom he met in his youth at the Clavadel sanatorium, in Switzerland, and whom he named Gala. Maria Benz, a music hall artist nicknamed Nusch, his second wife, in whom he detects the very incarnation of woman. The latter's sudden death plunged him into great despair, until his meeting in 1948 with Odette Lemort, his third wife, who gave him back the taste for living and writing.
This notebook offers an anthology of seven of his love poems, which are odes to the woman he loves and universal hymns to the feeling of love.
Notebook printed, assembled and sewn by hand by the Association in Lagny-sur-Marne!
